Hello…

I’m Alex, a composer, sound designer, and multi-instrumentalist based in Bristol, UK. My work centers on finding the musical pulse that underpins a narrative and bringing that out through a combination of music and designed soundscapes, taking the audience on a textured and layered sonic journey. With experience spanning live music, theatre, and session recording, I approach each project as an opportunity to explore the unique ways music can shape a story.

I studied music performance and composition at Brunel University and have gone on to perform nationally and internationally touring with artists and theatre productions. Highlights include; Composing the Soundtrack to Toby Thomposons adaptation of The Little Prince at the Egg Theatre, Bath, Performing in the band for Wise Children at the London Old Vic,  Touring and working collaboratively as part of Rachael Dadd’s band for her Kaleidoscope Album. 

In each project, my focus is on understanding what the story needs and how to accompany that musically to convey that message simply and effectively. I strive to find an authentic voice and sound world that is true to myself whilst being adaptable to a variety of contexts.
